Chicken Chop Set, which consists of Chicken Chop Rice and Fresh Lemon Tea (Hot or Cold) is something rare and perhaps a new item on the menu. The chicken chop is quite oily and is quite dry and bland as there isn’t any gravy that comes with it. Perhaps, OLDTOWN should stick with kopitiam food and not venture into territory it is not familiar with.

Tappers’ Bacon Egg Sandwich

Nothing can go wrong with a Bacon Egg Sandwich. As such, Bacon Egg Sandwich at Tappers Cafe is quite decent. The bacon is crispy and the egg is fresh, it is quite a lovely sandwich.

Tappers’ Mini Chicken Chop Rice

Tappers’ Mini Chicken Chop Rice is quite blatant. The Chicken Chop is bland piece of chicken breast mixed with tomato sauce. The rice is also nothing spectacular.

Tappers’ Kopi Ping

Kopi Ping is quite delightful and perhaps is the only thing worth it in Tappers Cafe.

Overall, unless if you are really hungry or love colonial-designed cafe, this is not a worthy place to visit. There is always Coffee Bean on the opposite side of Tappers.

Killiney Kopitiam’s Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah

Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah is one of the them. Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah is quite decent and I must say it is even better than the infamous Nasi Lemak Panas Ayam Goreng in Bangsar. The rice is fragrant and the anchovies are crispy while the sambal is slightly on the sweet side rather than being spicy. The fried chicken is perfectly fried, except that it may be a little bit oily.

Killiney Kopitiam’s Chicken Curry Rice

Chicken Curry Rice is quite fragrant and delicious and is comparable to Old Town’s Curry Chicken with Sticky Rice though both have different type of rice.

Killiney Kopitiam’s Cold Coffee

The Cold Coffee is quite “gao” and is a great drink with any meals. Good enough for a coffee lover like me.

Tosai Masala which consists of potatoes and tosai is surprisingly appetizing.

Roti Cheese + Telur is unique but is delicious even though the amount of cheese is quite insufficient, otherwise, it would be perfect.

Uncle ‘K’ Kopitiam Black & White Coffee

Black & White Coffee doesn’t only look good, but taste just as good as it looks. The coffee tastes quite strong.

Uncle ‘K’ Special Kemaman Coffee

Uncle ‘K’ Special Kemaman Coffee is true to its name — special and has a mesmerizing coffee flavor that last in your mouth after you sip it.

Overall, Uncle ‘K’ Kopitiam may be slightly overpriced for kopitiam standard but the food and coffee are definitely worth every cent.

Kim Gary’s Fried Pork Chop with Shanghai Style Vegetable Rice

Kim Gary Restaurant’s Fried Pork Chop with Shanghai Style Vegetable Rice served with Shanghai Style Soya Sauce is quite hearty and is one of the few dishes that is not oily. The fried pork chop is succulent and it is surprisingly satisfying.

Kim Gary’s Hot and Spicy Noodles with Pork Chop in "Typhoon Shelter" Style

Hot and Spicy Noodles with Pork Chop in "Typhoon Shelter" Style is served in a huge bowl like in most Japanese restaurants. However, the noodles portion is extremely small compared to the bean sprouts, which occupied half the bowl. The curry is indeed spicy but there’s really nothing special about this.

Kim Gary’s Coffee in Hong Kong Style (Cold)

Coffee in Hong Kong Style (Cold) is quite mediocre compared to the coffee joints. Even though it’s only RM 2.80, I would prefer Oldtown White Coffee anytime. Furthermore, OLDTOWN White Coffee is only RM 3.20.

Curry Chicken Sticky Rice is quite nice and less oily compared to the glutinous rice in Meals. On the contrary, the curry chicken is quite oily and less satisfying.

Oldtown White Coffee’s OLDTOWN Nasi Rendang Chicken

As usual, OLDTOWN Nasi Rendang Chicken is up to par as it is one of OLDTOWN’s signature dish. Somehow, it is pricier than the Nasi Rendang Chicken at Bandar Bukit Tinggi. Maybe they have raised their price.

Mocha White Coffee is satisfying like most of the white coffee in the café.

OLDTOWN White Coffee (Hot) is the original Ipoh Old Town White Coffee and it’s just satiating I could drink this everyday.

Meals Station’s Mini Bowl of Meals Curry Noodle, as the name says, is the mini version of Meals Curry Noodles. This is largely due to the fact, Meals Curry Noodles costs RM 7.90 and the breakfast set costs RM 5.90, therefore, they have to slash the size of the bowl as well. But, seriously, the mini version is good enough for breakfast.

Meals Station’s Egg Sandwich

Perhaps, the biggest rip off are the sandwiches as I cannot see how anyone will get satiated from the two pieces of breads cut into four tiny triangles. What’s worse, it costs the same as the other sets.

OLDTOWN Nasi Rendang Chicken is one of its signature dish, and I have to say it is quite good it exceeds my expectation. However, at RM 8.50, the price is quite steep.

Javanese Mee is quite mediocre and ordinary and there is no reason to order it unless they run out of everything on their extensive menu.

Hazelnut White Coffee

Hazelnut White Coffee is mild and I have to say I prefer to original OLDTOWN White Coffee.

Blackcurrant Yogurt Smoothies

Blackcurrant Yogurt Smoothies is something new and refreshing. Perhaps OLDTOWN is trying to follow the footsteps of Starbucks as it is trying to create new drinks other than coffee.
