Uncle Lim’s Fried Kuey Teow is another addition to the variety of food available in May Flower Seafood Restaurant and Food Court.

Uncle Lim’s Fried Kuey Teow is quite delicious. The ingredients are generous while the kuey teow are fried to perfection. In some places, you’ll see the kuey teow ends up either burnt or uncooked, but the char kuey teow here doesn’t only look good but taste good as well. Definitely top my list for Fried Kuey Teow in Kuala Lumpur, if not the whole Malaysia.

Char Kuey Teow (Fried Kuey Teow) @ Lorong Selamat, Penang

Lorong Selamat Char Kuey Teow or Fried Kuey Teow has been famous since early 2000. Now, it is sheltered inside a restaurant named Kafe Heng Huat and not the one outside a few shops away in the street. However, many bloggers and food lovers alike have commented that the owners are not very friendly. It is indeed the truth — the owner told us to wait at least two hours when we were ordering, it’s like they are now so rich, they don’t need our business anymore. We ended up waiting for nearly one hour instead of the two hours she earlier mentioned. Rude and arrogant is not the way to service the customers. Furthermore, since their debut on 8TV’s Ho Chak, the price is now ridiculously high, starting from RM 6.50 to RM 9.00 for a bigger plate.

Even though, the plate of Char Kuey Teow has three big prawns, the eggs seems to be a little bit soggy. The plate of Fried Kuey Teow is quite small, where the bigger plate will cost RM 9.00 instead of RM 7.00.

Kafe Heng Huat also has Ice Kacang. The famous Ice Kacang is the one a few shop lots away on the street. The owner of Kafe Heng Huat allows you to take away food from outside except Char Kuey Teow and Ice Kacang, because if you want these, you need to buy from them.

My verdict? These are not the best Char Kuey Teow in town. I have tried many better ones and the big prawns are not worth it. Moreover, the attitude of the business owners are way too unfriendly they should consider closing down their business and eat wind instead.
