Great news is that Cheezy Chickaroni is now part of KFC’s “Jom Jimat” (Set E) and for only RM 5.90, you also get a glass of regular soft drink. A la carte price is RM 5.80. A note though, Cheezy Chickaroni may not be enough for the big eaters.

Nando’s always associated with its famous Extra Hot Peri-Peri flame-grilled chicken. But, actually, Nando’s has more delightful offerings than just its famous chickens.

Nando’s Peri Kick Starter

For the start, Nando’s Peri Kick Starter which consists of 3 pieces of Chicken Wings, 4 Mini Kebabs, Grilled Chicken Sausages, Novo Pita and fresh cucumber sticks with Creamy Peri Dip, is a superb combination which will satisfy most appetites. Novo Pita is amazingly fresh and it’s best eaten when it’s still hot. Grilled Chicken Sausages is tendered and cooked to perfection, best eaten with the Creamy Peri Dip. Mini Kebabs which mixes grilled chicken breasts and capsicums is also delightful, so are the Chicken Wings.

Nando’s Espetada is served on a skewer

Nando’s Espetada which consists of 4 pieces of grilled chicken thighs with roasted capsicums is served on a skewer. Besides being a pretty sight, the grilled chicken thighs are pretty good too.

Nando’s Espetada with 2 sidelines

Nando’s also has manufactured its own mineral water bottles. They are quite pricey at RM 3.50 each.

Overall, every meal at Nando’s is always a satisfying experience. The only wish is to have a bigger stomach to swallow all those great food they serve.

Price

Peri Kick Starter – RM 24.90

Pizza Hut’s latest offering — Sensasi Delight lets you choose from 5 tasty dishes starting from RM 7.95 for a personal set for one person. We had Sensasi Set 4 which consists of two soup of the day, two glasses of Pepsi, a personal pan pizza, a plate of pasta and one garlic bread. All these for only RM 18.29 including tax.

Pizza Hut’s Mushroom Soup

Pizza Hut’s Mushroom Soup is much better than it was previously. The quality and the taste has improved and best of all, you don’t have to take the soup by yourself — it’s served to you like any other dishes.

Pizza Hut’s Garlic Bread

Pizza Hut’s Garlic Bread is like usual, the bread is soft and it gets cold easily because there is no aluminum foil that comes with it. It’s best dipped with the soup but when our garlic bread arrives, the soups already become cold due to the slow and inefficient service.

Pizza Hut’s Aromatic Thai Spaghetti

Aromatic Thai Spaghetti may be aromatic but it tastes quite mediocre. Imagine Thai sauce, beef pepperoni, onions, tomatoes and cucumber strips mixed altogether. The Thai sauce is not the Thai chili but it’s Tamarind sauce. It’s just not the right mix.

Pizza Hut’s Waikiki Paradise Pizza

Waikiki Paradise Pizza is like Hawaiian pizza but with additional beef cabanossi, ground beef besides the usual pineapples, chicken loaf and onions. It’s quite delightful but since it’s a personal pan pizza, the pizza is just not the same.

Overall, Pizza Hut’s Sensasi Delight is affordable and delightful. However, don’t visit the Pavilion’s branch during lunch hours especially because the service is just horrible.

Curry Chicken Baoz is the best of the lots as it’s crispy and fresh and a little spicy. Buy a dozen of this, forget the rest.

Like J.Co, Big Apple and Vienna Bagels, Mr Baoz also sells in a dozen, half a dozen boxes and three pieces. The price of a dozen of baoz is RM 36 while the price for half a dozen is RM 18. However, the baoz in these package are preselected and customers cannot select their preferred baoz.

Mr Baoz is halal. But for RM 3, I can easily get a Big Pao (Big Steamed Bun) at almost any Chinese restaurant.

Mee Jawa stall in Pavilion’s Food Republic is often neglected by customers as it is located far at the back behind John King and besides Pan Mee stall.

Mee Jawa as its name suggested, is famous with its Javanese noodles, or Mee Jawa in Bahasa Malaysia. The plate of Mee Jawa is huge as you can see from the picture comparative with the sppon and chopstick. Its taste is somehow rather mediocre and besides its humongous plate, there’s nothing really to shout about. Still, it’s better than Mee Jawa at Oldtown.

Mee Jawa’s Curry Laksa

Curry Laksa, on the other hand, is pleasant to eat, although I have to say its incredible hard to find one that’s as good as you can get from Penang.

Maybe Mee Jawa should be neglected, not just because of its location but of its food.

MOF or Ministry of Food has recently stepped its shoe in Malaysia by setting a cafe namely MOF Japanese Sweets & Coffee in Pavilion KL.

MOF has already established itself in Singapore a couple of years back. And now, MOF is bringing Malaysians the chance to savor the healthy authentic Japanese sweets and coffee right here in our shore. There are a variety of sweets and desserts to choose from, not forgetting a range of exquisite coffee too.

MOF’s Japanese Sweets & Coffee

The interior of MOF’s Japanese Sweets & Coffee is cozy and modern

MOF’s Mango Imo

Mango Imo consists of Soft serve ice-cream with mango sauce and Japanese Sweet Potato (Imo). The Japanese Sweet Potato is served hot, therefore, this dessert comes with a special note that contains little tips to eating Japanese Sweet Potato or Imo. The best way to eat Imo is to spoon a bit of everything and then eat them together to enjoy the hot Imo and the icy cold soft-serve ice-cream. The result? Delightful.

MOF’s Mocha Frappe

The Mocha Frappe, which is a drink with the mixture of coffee and chocolate tastes better than expected. Unlike Starbucks, MOF Mocha Frappe is rich with chocolate bits and the coffee flavor is so strong, once sipped, it totally inhales into the nose causing a strong sense of awakening.

MOF’s Hot Chocolate

Hot Chocolate, which comes with Gyuuhi, a Japanese sweet, is however, less favorable than the other two. In my opinions, MOF is the place for sweets and coffee, and not chocolate. Also, unlike the MOF restaurants elsewhere, the Malaysia version only serves sweets and coffee and they are halal.

Price

Mango Imo – RM 11.00

Mocha Frappe – RM 10.00

Hot Chocolate – RM 9.00

For just RM 3.90 (RM 4.10 including tax), you can get a bowl of lovely Stewed Beef Noodles. The pieces of stewed beef are delicious while the noodles are scrumptious despite the lack of spices. I other words, it’s healthy and yet, affordable. There is also an option of Stewed Beef Rice if you prefer rice instead of noodles.

Its branch in Pavilion KL is cozy and comfortable and one can easily linger for hours with its UCC coffee.

Salmon Skin Temaki is crispy and delicious and comes in chunk.

Sakae Sushi’s Salmon Tempura Udon

Tempura Udon is good especially the tempura prawn. Otherwise, it is quite so-so as it’s really hard to find good Udon noodles these days.

Sakae Sushi’s Teriyaki Chicken Ramen

Teriyaki Chicken Ramen, on the other hand, is quite pleasing and satisfying. The Teriyaki Chicken is tender and not too soggy despite mixed with the soup, the Ramen is just savory.

Sakae Sushi’s Genmai Cha (Green Tea)

Genmai Cha or Green Tea is a must when eating Japanese food as like when you must have Chinese Tea for Chinese food.

Sakae Sushi’s Strawberry Calpis

Strawberry Calpis is Strawberry flavored calpis also known as Japanese milk drink with a slightly tangy and sour pick me up. It is sweet and sour at the same time, but the taste is just lovely.

Sakae Sushi’s UCC Coffee with Ice-cream

UCC Coffee with Ice-cream is siphon brewed traditional charcoal roasted Japanese coffee layered with milk and rich, smooth and creamy vanilla ice-cream. The taste? Absolutely tantalizing.
