If fried rice is your favorite dish, then you should check out Restoran Studio S in Wisma Cosway. The Malay restaurant serves all kind of fried rice besides the regular mixed rice.

Pattaya Fried Rice (Nasi Goreng Pattaya) is not the best but it is quite nice actually.

Restoran Studio S's Tom Yam Fried Rice
Restoran Studio S’s Tom Yam Fried Rice

Tom Yam Fried Rice (Nasi Goreng Tom Yam) is up to the par, except that it is not spicy enough. Still, it is difficult to find good Tom Yam Fried Rice these days.

Chinese Fried Rice (Nasi Goreng Cina) is nothing special while Kampung Fried Rice (Nasi Goreng Kampung) is slightly spicy with anchovies and kangkung (water spinach). Salted Fish Fried Rice (Nasi Goreng Ikan Masin) is a little bit salty and all the fried rice comes with a slice of papadum.

  • Pattaya Fried Rice / Nasi Goreng Pattaya – RM 5.20
  • Tom Yam Fried Rice / Nasi Goreng Tom Yam (with egg) – RM 5.00
  • Chinese Fried Rice / Nasi Goreng Cina – RM 4.20

Penang Food – Little Penang Kafe @ The Curve

Little Penang Kafe in The Curve may sound familiar, this is because it has long established itself in Suria KLCC.

Little Penang Kafe's Chicken Nasi Lemak
Little Penang Kafe’s Chicken Nasi Lemak

Just like the restaurant’s name, little can be said of the Nasi Lemak. Sri Nirwana in Bangsar still serves the best nasi lemak so far.

Little Penang Kafe's Assam Laksa
Little Penang Kafe’s Assam Laksa

The Assam Laksa, however, is full of flavor — it’s sour and has a generous amount of fish meat.

Little Penang Kafe's Sugar Cane and Cincau
Little Penang Kafe’s Sugar Cane and Cincau

The Sugar Cane drink barely tastes like those Sugar Cane drinks from the hawkers stalls. While the Cincau drink is ordinary, nothing too special about it.

  • Chicken Nasi Lemak – RM 9.80
  • Assam Laksa – RM 9.80
  • Sugar Cane – RM 3.30
  • Cincau – RM 3.30

Noodles, Dim Sum and White Coffee – Chatter Kopitiam @ Kinta City, Ipoh

Chatter Kopitiam is a kopitiam located in Kinta City, Ipoh. It may locate inside a shopping mall but the price is still lower than most kopitiams in Klang Valley.

Chatter Kopitiam's Dry Curry Noodle
Chatter Kopitiam’s Dry Curry Noodle

Dry Curry Noodle is different from those you get elsewhere. The curry is thick, there are not much beansprouts while the mint leaves do add some fragrant to the dish, it is just not good enough.

Chatter Kopitiam's Curry Soup Noodle
Chatter Kopitiam’s Curry Soup Noodle

Curry Soup Noodle is almost the same version of the Dry Curry Noodle except it has slightly more curry.

Chatter Kopitiam's Chang Jiang White Coffee (Cold)
Chatter Kopitiam’s Chang Jiang White Coffee (Cold)

Chang Jiang White Coffee is unique and is better than most white coffee found in Klang Valley, but I can say it’s not the best white coffee as it still lacks somewhat something.

Chatter Kopitiam's Chocolate (Hot)
Chatter Kopitiam’s Chocolate (Hot)

Chocolate (Hot) tastes almost like Milo and perhaps is the biggest rip-off.

Chatter Kopitiam's Chicken Cha Siew Pao

Chatter Kopitiam’s Chicken Cha Siew Pao

Chicken Cha Siew Pao is probably the best item on the menu and you should not miss this one if you happen to be in Kinta City. At RM 1.80, it may be slightly more expensive than the ordinary siew pao in the real Chinese kopitiam, but it is worth every cent. The Chicken Cha Siew is so tender, it almost taste like pork. By the way, this kopitiam serves halal food.

  • Dry Curry Noodle – RM 5.20
  • Soup Curry Noodle – RM 5.20
  • Chang Jiang White Coffee (Cold) – RM 2.00
  • Chocolate (Hot) – RM 3.50
  • Chicken Cha Siew Pao – RM 1.80 (per piece)
